On November 10-11, 2016, ACF Executive Director attended the 5th Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Business Forum, which was held to enhance the interaction and cooperation between the businesses of the Asian region, at Rixos President Hotel in Astana.
The Business Forum was organized by the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Fund “Damu” and CICA Secretariat.
The representatives from 25 CICA member and observer countries gathered in the capital of Kazakhstan to discuss the possibility of creating favorable conditions for small and medium-sized enterprise development, trends and challenges on microfinancing, the women entrepreneurship, as well as exchange experience in franchising and “green” economy development.
Among others the speakers included Vice Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Mr. Aidar Arifkhanov, CICA Executive Director – Ambassador Mr. Gong Jianwei, President of China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Machinery & Electronic Products, the Chairman of the CICA Business Council Mr. Yujing Zhang, and Chairman of the Board of “Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund” JSC Mr. Kanysh Tuleushin.
The Conference consisted of the Plenary Session “Achievements of the CICA member states in creation of a favorable environment for small businesses and prospects for their advancement” and three panel sessions on the themes “Open dialogue between Business and Government – What is necessary to work in partnership?”, “Green development” and “The best practices of the CICA member-states in support of the franchising”.
As part of the Conference, “KazFranch-2016” Exhibition with the participation of 20 Kazakhstan franchising companies, the Forum of Women’s Entrepreneurship on the theme “Supporting the development of women entrepreneurship – the experience of CICA members’ countries”, Microfinance Forum “Regional trends of microfinance development” and Forum of Investors “International forum on cooperation development within the framework of strategies “One Belt – One Road” and “Nurly Zhol”, as well as various business-to-business meetings and breakout sessions were held.
In addition, the participants made recommendations for effective tools in supporting entrepreneurship, creating favorable conditions for the development of the sector and accelerating measures for integration processes between the companies of the CICA member and observer countries.
