Currently, ACF is the third largest microfinance institution in Kazakhstan ranked by clients. The owners of ACF are \u00a0BOPA (Base of Pyramid Asia) and Karavella Invest LLP owned by ACF employees. ACF provides innovative financial products and services largely to women in underserved rural areas and supports its lending with training, consulting and other community development services. With its headquarters in Almaty, ACF has a network of rural offices throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p>ACF adheres to a niche community lending model, providing tailored financial solutions, business advice and technical assistance to its clients. During its existence, ACF has supported more than 118,000 entrepreneurs and households in the Republic of Kazakhstan with its financial services for a total amount of USD 256.8 million. <\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"tabs_1_2\" class=\"tabcontent\"> As part of its strategic development, ACF launched a digitalization of services project, introducing a chatbot to improve communication with ACF&#8217;s target customers. <\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"tabs_1_3\" class=\"tabcontent\"> ACF launched its own call center to improve customer service, enhance communication, and collect feedback. <\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"tabs_1_4\" class=\"tabcontent\"> BOPA becomes a major shareholder, owning 98.32% of the company. <\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"tabs_1_5\" class=\"tabcontent\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/asiancreditfund.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Smart-August2017_.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2314\" \/>Year of ACF twentieth anniversary. Funding received from a four-year loan guarantee agreement with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), to the sum of USD 1 million, is essential for the implementation of the program.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"tabs_1_10\" class=\"tabcontent\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-296\" alt=\"2008\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/300x300-history-2008-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/asiancreditfund.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/300x300-history-2008-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/asiancreditfund.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/300x300-history-2008.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>Group Lending\u2014In April 2008, ACF initiated a group lending program to improve rural communities\u2019 access to financial services. The success of this program continues to be demonstrated today, as group lending forms the basis of ACF\u2019s sustainable business model, accounting for 95% of all active loans in the ACF portfolio.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"tabs_1_11\" class=\"tabcontent\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-295\" alt=\"2004\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/300x300-history-2004-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/asiancreditfund.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/300x300-history-2004-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/asiancreditfund.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/300x300-history-2004.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>Residential Mortgage and Home Improvement Lending Program\u2014Introduced in 2004, the program was implemented in order to fulfill the unmet need for safe and affordable homes by those individuals who were excluded from access to finance by banks, due to complicated underwriting standards and stringent collateral requirements.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"tabs_1_12\" class=\"tabcontent\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-294\" alt=\"2002\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/300x300-history-2002-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/asiancreditfund.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/300x300-history-2002-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/asiancreditfund.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/300x300-history-2002.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>Strategic Philanthropy Program\u2014Committed to making a positive contribution to the everyday lives of vulnerable populations, between 2002\u20142006, ACF implemented a comprehensive Strategic Philanthropy Program, targeted towards young, undereducated, unemployed men in Kazakhstan. In its first decade of operations, 1997\u20132007, ACF focused on supporting the development of small local production and service companies. During these ten years, ACF disbursed 107 small and medium enterprise (SME) loans, totaling USD 3.9 million. According to ACF\u2019s 2006 Impact Analysis, each SME client provided, on average, 42 stable jobs.
